Tai chi/ Pilates – a mixed class format to get the best of both worlds.

This gentle course focuses on relaxation through movement teamed with breath. If you’re under stress, injured or sore, this class will help restore your mind and body.

This approach to relaxation is great for everyone that finds it hard to get into traditional still meditation but is looking for the benefits of meditation. This is a class approach that is focusing on the physical side, there is no spiritual teaching that can be contraindicated to some religious belief systems. Think of this class as a form of physiotherapy.

No experience is required.

We start with a short tai chi warm up followed by the Shibashi sequence with flowing moves and the deep breathing. (about 20min)

Not sure Tai chi is for you, have a read of the linked articles I have composed in the past and here a post on how I didn’t like Tai chi at first.

After that we will spend time connecting to our deep core muscles with mat based Pilates exercises, which will show you how to use movement to create energy, build core strength!

Benefits of Pilates can include:

  • improving core function
  • Strengthening core and back muscles
  • Increasing spinal mobility and stability
  • Developing posture and balance
  • Improving flexibility
  • Helping with concentration
  • Energising mind and body
  • Helping with prevention and relief of back pain

If you’re under stress, injured or suffer back pain, this class will help restore balance in your mind and body.

No experience is required.
