
Body Flow – Tai chi Qigong
Do you want to start moving more but don’t feel you are able to move up and down from the floor in a swift manner at the moment?
You’d prefer simple movements, stretches, a little strengthening and relaxation/ meditation?
You need a class that leaves you feeling re-energised and accomplished?
This class is for you.
We do a simple non spiritual form of Tai chi Qigong, you can even do it sitting on a chair. We take things at a very leisurely pace. No getting down on the floor, everything is done standing.
This gentle class focuses on relaxation through movement teamed with breath. If you’re under stress, injured or sore, this class will help restore your mind and body.
This approach to relaxation is great for everyone that finds it hard to get into traditional still meditation but is looking for the benefits of moving and meditation.
No experience is required.
This class will be great for total beginners and anyone who suffering with Arthritis or chronic fatigue syndrome. The class is even suited pregnant women who want to keep moving as an alternative to pre-natal specific yoga.

Time: 10:45am – 11:45am
Location: Smawthorne community Church, off Hugh street.
Cost: £60/ 6 weeks
Bring: socks, some water and wear comfortable clothes in layers.

This approach to relaxation is great for everyone that finds it hard to get into traditional still meditation but is looking for the benefits of meditation. This is a class approach that is focusing on the physical side, there is no spiritual teaching that can be contraindicated to some religious belief systems. Think of this class as a form of physiotherapy.
No experience is required.
We start with a short tai chi warm up followed by the Shibashi sequence with flowing moves and the deep breathing. (about 20min)
Not sure Tai chi is for you, have a read of the linked articles I have composed in the past and here a post on how I didn’t like Tai chi at first.
After that we will spend time connecting to our deep core muscles with mat based Pilates exercises, which will show you how to use movement to create energy, build core strength!
