Yoga Nidra | 4th October 2022, 18:00-19:00
Yoga nidra or yogic sleep is a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping, like the “going-to-sleep” stage. It is a state in which the body is completely relaxed, and the practitioner becomes systematically and increasingly aware of the inner world by following a set of verbal instructions. This state of consciousness (yoga nidra) is different from meditation in which concentration on a single focus is required. In yoga nidra the practitioner remains in a state of light pratyahara with four of his or her senses internalised, that is, withdrawn, and only the hearing still connects to the instructions.
Yoga nidra is among the deepest possible states of relaxation while still maintaining full consciousness. In lucid dreaming, one is only, or mainly, cognizant of the dream environment, and has little or no awareness of one’s actual environment.
The practice of deep yoga relaxation has been found to reduce tension and anxiety. The autonomic symptoms of high anxiety such as headache, giddiness, chest pain, palpitations, sweating and abdominal pain respond well. It has been used to help soldiers from war cope with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
This class is suitable for everyone, there are no yoga postures or movements in this class. You will just lie back and relax into the yogic sleep state which is achieved through a systematic form of guided relaxation.
Please bring a mat and a blanket (or two blankets), plus a cushion for your comfort. Wear layers to ensure you have options.
Booking is open to members and non members alike.

Yin Yoga | 18th October 2022, 18:00-19:00
Yin yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga with poses/ asanas, that are held for longer periods of time around 3-5 minutes per pose is typical.
Staying in a pose for that duration trains the mind and body to become calm and endure distractions, both physical and mental.
Yin yoga poses apply moderate stress to the connective tissues of the body—the tendons, fascia, and ligaments—with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and over the long term re-modeling the connective tissue to help build strong and flexible joints.
It is a more meditative approach to yoga that is a natural healing practice, yin aims to cultivating awareness of inner silence, physical ease and mental calm.
Yin yoga is not intended as a complete practice in itself, but rather as a complement to more active forms of yoga and other forms of exercise.
For those who have practiced yoga, the poses used in yin are very different, they are all poses that you can hold comfortably for the designated time.
“The power of yin yoga is not effort but time!”
Please bring a mat and a blanket (or two blankets), plus a cushion for your comfort. Wear layers to ensure you have options.
Suitable for both total beginners and more advanced yogis.
Booking is open to members and non members alike.

Restorative Yoga | 25th October 2022 18:00-19:00
In truth, restorative yoga is simply that – restorative. It is the centering of your breath and body – aligning the physical and mental by practicing stillness or gentle movement for extended periods of time. The props assist in helping you to hold poses longer.
A restorative yoga sequence typically involves only five or six poses, supported by props that allow you to completely relax and rest. Held for 5 minutes or more, restorative poses include light twists, seated forward folds, and gentle backbends.
This is a great class for anyone finding Feel-good yoga too strenuous.
Please bring a mat and a blanket (or two blankets), plus a cushion for your comfort. Wear layers to ensure you have options.
Suitable for Beginners and improvers.
Booking is open to members and non members alike.
