In this Yoga for back health workshop you’ll learn which poses are helpful for different types of back pain and how to do them well.
Not all back pain is created equal, some is related to slipped discs, some is muscular, some is inflammatory arthritis based and some is purely structural i.e. bad posture.
All types of back pain benefit from full developing full range of motion in all joints, the back is not an isolated unit, what is happening at your feet can affect your neck.
We need a well functioning core as well as strength in the back and glutes. When we are in chronic pain the core and glutes often stop doing their job, it helps to re-train awareness and help the nervous system access the muscles again.
We’ll look at common postural faults and why it might be helpful to correct them, why some muscles need stretching and others strengthening.
How to develop endurance strength to help with posture in every day situations.
It is never too late to take charge of chronic pain issues related to your back, even after 10 years of having terrible pain and having been to every professional you can think of it is possible to make a difference and break free.
Learn how simple exercises done in a mindful way, staying out of the zone of pain can help your body trust you again.
Yoga is all about working with your body and appreciating what it can do. I’ll share with you about my journey with Ankylosing spondylitis over the years.
Suitable for both total beginners and more advanced yogis.
I will tailor the workshop to the people that attend, let me know about your type of back pain and your experience with it so far.
I look forward to exploring this subject in more depth.
